The first consultation takes approximately 1,5 hours. We go through your state of health and history of diseases/ailments. You talk about when your ailments started, how they manifest and what factors improve or worsen them. You talk even about all aspects of your health, about your concentration, memory and previous events of your life that have affected your health. A lot of questions may not have an obvious connection to the ailments you are seeking help but they may be significant in the choice of homeopathic remedy.

After an overall assessment, you are prescribed a remedy and given instructions about how you are going to take it. We schedule a new appointment for follow-up where we are going to assess the healing procedure and further treatment.
During therapy it is not sure that the ailments which you are seeking help will be the first to improve. The body makes a priority about healing according to the principles of homeopathy. If you have chronic health issues it can take longer for you to reach the state of optimal health. If you are basically healthy you can get well faster and easily.

According to the art of medicine of homeopathy, the symptoms do not only make up a disease but they are the body´s way to signal that something is out of balance. Individually, correctly chosen homeopathic remedy gives signal to the body in order to address the cause of the symptoms. Treatment with classical homeopathy does not cause side effects but the homeopathic remedies can cause a reaction, particularly in chronic health issues and you can experience a worsening of your symptoms in the beginning. This is called ”initial aggravation” and it is an acknowledgment that a healing process has started. It is not dangerous and it goes away usually after a short period of time.

We treat symptoms and NOT diseases with classical homeopathy. Both acute and chronic health issues can be treated. Homeopathy strengthens the body´s own ability to heal and improves health. Experience has shown that the sooner you get treatment with homeopathy in the development of your ailments, the faster and easier the process of healing takes place. According to the Swedish law we cannot treat children under the age of 8, pregnant women or patients with cancer, diabetes, epilepsy and contagious diseases like for example sexually transmitted infections.

My name is Maria Papadopoulou and I am a medical doctor, ophthalmologist and authorised homeopathic practitioner. I have studied classical homeopathy for 3 years at the international school of “Educational Center for Classical Homeopathy-ECCH” (http://www.homeopathy.study).

I am member of  KHY (Klassiska Homeopaters Yrkesförbund, http://klassiskahomeopater.se) which is the Association of classical homeopathic practitioners in Sweden.

My motivation for studying and practising classical homeopathy is treating people in a practical and humanistic way. I combine my knowledge and experience as a medical doctor with classical homeopathy following a holistic approach to human health. This means that I take into account not only the ailments of the physical body but also the emotional and mental issues concerning it.

The patient´s consent to processing of personal data.
A homeopathic practitioner processes personal data according to the Swedish law. When your personal data is registered and processed you have the right to specific information.
During your treatment your personal data is recorded in a journal. The data recorded is your personal number (if you do not have a swedish personal number your date of birth is recorded), your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
Name, address, telephone number and e-mail address are also recorded in the invoice.
The journal is saved in a safe way. Accounting (invoices) is saved for 7 years.

Your personal data is necessary in order to keep in touch during the treatment, follow up the treatment and send invoices. It is legal because it is necessary for the treatment. This data is categorised as sensitive.
Your personal data is handled by your therapist/homeopathic practitioner who is responsible for keeping the journals in a safe way. Invoices with your personal data can be passed on to a third part for accounting and auditing.
Your homeopathic practitioner gives their personal data to you and you can get in touch with them if you have any questions.

A classical homeopathic practitioner that is affiliated with Klassiska Homeopaters Yrkesförbund, KHY, follows the association´s ethical rules. According to these rules the journals are saved in a safe way. Book-keeping is destroyed after 7 years.

You have, according to the Swedish law, the right to request access to your personal data. Contact your homeopathic practitioner. You also have the right to get in touch with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) if you have any complaints and if you are not satisfied with the way your personal data is handled.

Upon initiation of your treatment you agree as a patient that your homeopathic practitioner processes your personal data as stated above.
